The Bagués Hotel is a 5-star boutique hotel located in the most historic part of Barcelona: Les Rambles and the historic Gothic Quarter.
The Bagués Hotel 5* in Barcelona is located in a building that forms part of the city's architectural, historic and artistic heritage. It was built in 1850 by Josep Fontserè i Domènech, a leading architect in Renaissance architecture.
Located in the heart of Les Rambles, between the Palau de la Virreina palace and the church Església de la Mare de Déu de Betlem, only a stone's throw from the famous La Boquería market.
The building was used as the Masriera jewellery-workshop for many years. Lluís Masriera was the forefather of modernism in Spain and one of the most important Art Nouveau jewellers in the world. His jewellery has formed part of exhibitions in the main museums around the world, such as the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York, the Van Gogh Museum in Amsterdam, the Cleveland Museum of Art, the Museum of Decorative Arts in Madrid or the MNAC.
The interior design of the hotel was inspired by the style of the architect Charles Rennie Mackintosh, using thinner, simpler lines in Art Nouveau.
The Bagués Hotel has 31 luxury rooms and suites, restaurant, a terrace with a small outdoor pool and solarium, a gym and sauna, a lounge and function rooms, a cocktail bar and the Émile Gallé Museum Hall with Art-Noveau glass crafts.
